The new work 'G.D. PARADA' opens this year's 'COUNTERTEXT' festival in Bridport (UK). I will be showing this piece, followed by live five-channel sound mix as part of a new video work in progress, 'SAGITTAE'. 'G.D. PARADA' is screening as part of the festival until 26th November.

'Joga, Isso!' released as part of Binaural/Nodar's 'Three Years in Nodar: Context-Specific Art Practices in Rural Portugal'. The catalogue documents the first three years of formalised artist residencies at Binarual/Nodar and, features a double-CD of sound works by twenty international artists. 'Joga, Isso!' is a stereo composition, using field recordings captured during two artist residencies hosted by Binaural/Nodar focused on the training exercises and drills of amateur football team, 'Grupo Desportivo de Parada'.

'Joga, Isso!' is showing in 'To the Field and Yonder' as part of the Gorey Arts and Film Festival. Featuring John Wynne, Claudio Curciotti, Helena Gough and Simon Whetham, amongst others, the selection of field recording works was selected by Sound Fjord.

The 4-channel sound work developed during a 'Magaio Voicescapes' residency with Binaural/Nodar in July, and shown during the Vozes de Magaio mini-festival in Covas do Monte (São Pedro do Sul, Pt), is currently to be presented at the event 'Valfino al Canto' (Abruzzo, It). The event is a festival of oral tradition taking place in the town of Arsita, in the Gran Sasso mountains.

Currently working on a Magaio Voicescapes residency, with Binaural/ Associação Cultural de Nodar. The project is being developed in the mountain village of Covas do Monte, and a preliminary version of the work will be shown as part of the Vozes de Magaio mini-festival 22-24 July.

Participating in the Phonography Colloquium held over 3 days at Goldsmiths University. Others taking part include Jez Riley French, João Vasco Paiva, John Wynne, Dawn Scarfe, Helen Frosi and others. I will be presenting an overview of the current project 'G. D. Parada'.

Beginning production residency with Ivon Oates at PVA MediaLab (Dorset, UK) on 23rd May. The first of two summer residencies at PVA working towards a new video and multichannel sound work centred around the Rampisham Transmission Centre in West Dorset.

Pleased to have been invited to assist in selection for the first release on Edições Nodar, Football Sound Narratives. The release, available for download and listening online, features sound works by a number of contributers, including Pete Stollery, Rui Costa, Manuela Barile, Girls of St. Bernards School with Ian McMillan and John Hall, and others including myself.

'Demolition' is currently showing as part of the Dragonfly festival at the SoundFjord Sound Art Tent. Work curated by Helen Frosi and Andrew Riley of the newly opened SoundFjord in North London.

Beginning the production phase of a commissioned sound composition for 8 channels, 'Marcha Andaluz', as part of a Soundtrap residency at Beaconsfield (London). The piece is a large-scale sound work using noise synthesis and manipulated sound recordings to explore themes of interpretation in ethnomusicological fieldwork. The project was conceived with Beaconsfield as an opportunity to develop new strategies for interpretation of ethnomusicological research, with specific reference to my ongoing investigation of the soundscapes of Seville's Semana Santa (Holy Week) processions.

In Seville to carry out a series of interviews and sound recordings, as part of a recent phase of research focused on the current panorama of the 'saeta flamenca' in Seville, the protagonists of this art form, and the performative environment in which it is realised. The saeta flamenca is a short,haunting song, addressed to the religous images carried through the streets during the Holy Week processions of Andalucia. A primer on the saeta flamenca can be read in English here. Many thanks in particular to Pepe Medina, Susanna Sierra Martínez, Pepe Peregil and El Sacri for their collaboration, and to Eva Del Rey and Janet Fargion Topp at the British Library for their assistance.

Sussex by the Sea and G.D.Parada are currently showing at the Serralves museum in Porto, Portugal. Sussex by the Sea was originally commissioned by Sonic Arts Network (now Sound And Music) in 2008, and G.D.Parada was developed out of two artist residencies at Binaural (Portugal). Special thanks to the Luis Costa and the Binaural team; Julie Penfold, Mandy Rathbone and David Rogers at PVA MediaLab for their postproduction support; and Pedro Rocha, Ana Conde, Christina Grande and the technical team at Serralves.

58 Processions: Listening Through Holy Week was launched at PVA MediaLab's recent symposium Audiolab10- the Language of Place in West Bay, Dorset. The electronic publication documents two years of research and practice in the field and in the studio in collaboration with James Wyness, and features writing by James, myself and Katherine Hunt, and 10 field recordings from the project. 58 Processions: Listening Through Holy Week is published by Labculture Ltd. in association with Measure.
